It gives me a great pleasure in introducing this book on Theoretical Aspects on Quality Control and Standardization of Herbals, for anyone in the field of botany, agriculture and pharmaceutical Sciences. This book is extensively used in pharmacy colleges and other institutions all over the country. This book has been designed keeping in view the new curriculum of Pharmacy Council of India. The new PCI syllabus has made changes which have made it necessary to write a fresh book for the same.
The text covers various aspects of WHO guidelines for evaluation and standardization of herbs and herbal drugs. The subject also provides an opportunity for the student to learn cGMP, GAP and GLP in traditional system of medicines.
Upon completion of the subject student shall be able to know WHO guidelines for quality control of herbal drugs, quality assurance in herbal drug industry, the regulatory approval process and their registration in Indian and international markets and appreciate EU and ICH guidelines for quality control of herbal drugs. We have conceptualized the book in order to bring out the clarity on the theoretical aspects of the subject, which will help to improve the basis concept to the students.
